# Woven Nickel Mesh

*Plain weave / Twill weave / Dutch weave*

We weave this on our floor — not bought from a trading company and resold. Automated Dornier rapier looms, ISO 9001:2015 process control, 30-60 mesh standard range. Ni200 (UNS N02200) for alkaline duty below 80°C. Ni201 (UNS N02201) for hot KOH — the 0.13% carbon difference determines whether your electrodes last 30,000 or 60,000+ hours. Last quarter we shipped 40-mesh plain weave to a German AWE OEM: ±0.008mm aperture tolerance across 1,200m. Every roll ships with EN 10204 3.1 cert (OES chemistry, optical mesh count at 100 points, laser micrometer trace, ASTM E8 tensile) plus a 300mm tail sample. RoHS and REACH included.

## FAQ

### What mesh count is best for an alkaline electrolyzer electrode substrate?

For Raney nickel catalyst support in AWE stacks, 30-40 mesh plain weave with 0.25-0.30 mm Ni201 wire is the standard starting point - it balances geometric open area (35-55%) with the uniform aperture geometry that catalyst coating needs. Final choice depends on current density and active area; send us both and we return a matched weave recommendation within one business day.

### Should I use Ni200 or Ni201 woven mesh in hot KOH?

Specify Ni201 (0.02% C max) for any mesh immersed in KOH above 80°C. Ni200 (0.15% C max) forms grain-boundary Ni3C precipitates that hot KOH selectively attacks, cutting electrode life roughly in half. Below 80°C, Ni200 is generally fine.

### What certifications ship with each roll of woven nickel mesh?

Every roll ships with an EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate covering OES chemistry, optical mesh count at 100 points, laser micrometer wire trace and ASTM E8 tensile results, plus RoHS and REACH declarations and a 300 mm tail sample.

### What roll widths and tolerances do you offer?

Standard width is 1,000 mm, maximum 2,400 mm, with custom slitting available. Wire diameter tolerance is ±0.003 mm, laser-micrometer verified. Last quarter we shipped 40-mesh plain weave to a German AWE OEM at ±0.008 mm aperture tolerance across 1,200 m.
